Repiping and Water Line Replacement in New York

Supply pipe that has gone tired can be swapped for new in a single zone or throughout, and so can the buried line running in from the street. Plumbers of New York handles both, in houses and in apartment buildings where the work stays inside one unit. Consider calling when leaks keep reappearing, when pressure sags at several taps, or when the pipe is simply old. Notes from earlier plumbers are welcome.

We repipe homes that still have their first plumbing and homes where only one line has failed.

Repiping services

Replacing every supply line

In a whole-home repipe, the existing supply lines come out and PEX or copper goes in, with a new stop valve at every fixture. A run that cannot be reached without tearing out finished plaster or tile is cut loose and capped within the wall rather than chased.

Replacing one zone

A single bathroom group or a run beneath the floor may be the only part giving out. Swapping that branch can add years without touching the rest.

A new line from the street

From the street to the building, the buried pipe can corrode shut, crack or leak. We dig a trench, lay new pipe and join it at each end.

PEX or copper?

PEX is delivered on a coil and flexes around framing with very few joints, so it threads easily through finished walls. Copper is rigid, takes more fittings and has a long record in homes. We explain both, show what each means for your walls and quote the one you pick.

What pipe do you have now?

Judging old pipe starts with seeing it. Check the exposed runs under your sinks and beside the water heater, and make a note of the material and its condition.

Then tell us roughly when the building went up and whether any pipe was swapped earlier. From there we can decide together if a single zone or the whole home is the better call.

Inside the walls

Openings about the size of a hand are normally all the access we need for the new runs. Every line is hooked up and held under test pressure before the openings are closed.

Often the first clue that pipe is failing is a leak in an odd place, which is why our leak detection page pairs well with this one. The home page shows every service.

Begin with two facts. Roughly when was the building put up, and what does the pipe below the sinks look like? For an apartment, add the floor. A free, personalized quote is built from those answers.
