Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Who owns the water line between the street and my house?

Ownership usually splits at the curb stop: the utility's side is the main, and everything from there to the meter is the property owner's. Ask the water department where they draw that line, because it isn't identical everywhere.

How do I shut the water off if the leak is outside the house?

The main valve inside stops water to the house, but a break between the street and the foundation keeps running until the curb stop is closed. That valve normally takes the water department or a plumber with a key.

Is my water line buried deep enough to keep from freezing?

Usually yes, though the depth that was normal when the line went in isn't always the depth required now. Driveway work and yard grading are what raise a line without anyone noticing.

Would insurance cover replacing a buried water line?

It depends on the policy, the cause and any service-line endorsement you carry, so contact your insurance provider before assuming either way. Photographs of the excavation and the failed pipe help whatever the answer turns out to be.
