Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Why is air spitting from the taps?

Air in the lines usually points back to the well. A dropping water level, a leak on the suction side or a tank that has lost its charge can all pull air in. Worth diagnosing rather than just bleeding the lines.

My pump turns on and off every few seconds. What does that mean?

That's usually the pressure tank rather than the pump. A tank that has lost its air charge or split its bladder can't hold a reserve, so the switch trips constantly and the pump wears out early. Better to have it checked before the pump itself gives up.

Where is the main shutoff in a house on a well?

Right after the pressure tank in almost every case. Follow the pipe from the tank and the first valve you reach shuts the house down. Homes on public water instead have a valve near the meter plus a curb stop out at the street.

How can I tell whether my house is on a well or on public water?

Look for a pressure tank. A well house has one, usually with a switch and a gauge nearby, and no water meter. A house fed from a main has a meter and no tank.
