Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Where is my curb stop, and should I be able to use it?

It's normally a small metal cover in the lawn or near the sidewalk, and it's the shutoff between the street main and your house. It takes a long key to operate and is generally left to the water department or a plumber. Your own main shutoff inside the house is the valve to know.

Why does my house smell faintly of sewer in winter?

Usually a dry trap in a fixture nobody uses, or a vent that isn't drawing properly. Frost can cap a vent stack at the roof, and once that happens the odor tends to show up on the top floor first.

What should I do if a drain overflows at night?

Stop running water anywhere in the house, since every fixture upstairs feeds the same stack, and close the main if a supply line is involved. Keep people off the floor above if a ceiling is staining.

Is a slow drain ever just the fixture?

Sometimes, and a single sink backing up on its own often is. When two or more fixtures on the same wall slow down together, the shared pipe behind them is the more likely cause. Homes over toward Orwell show the same thing.
