Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What happens to a vent stack in a hard freeze?

Moisture in the exhaust can build frost at the roof opening and choke it down, which makes drains gurgle and slows the whole system. It clears on its own in a thaw, but a stack that ices up every winter is usually undersized or partly blocked.

My upstairs tub drains slowly but the sink is fine. Why?

Slow drainage on one fixture usually points at the branch line, while a whole floor draining slowly points at the stack it feeds into. In an older house with cast iron the stack narrows over the years from scale, so the tub, which moves the most water at once, complains first.

Should I be pouring drain cleaner into an old stack?

It's a poor match for aging cast iron, since the chemicals sit against pipe that's already thin and rarely clear a scale-narrowed line anyway. A plumber clearing it mechanically does less damage. Homes over toward Chesterfield show the same thing.
