Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Can I tell what my service line is made of?

Often, yes, by looking at the pipe where it comes through the wall or floor near the meter: dull gray that a magnet sticks to is galvanized, soft dull gray that a magnet ignores can be lead, and orange is copper. If it is unclear, a plumber can confirm it in a few minutes.

We are on a well, not the water main. Does any of this apply?

The lead and galvanized question still applies to the pipe between the well and the house and to older interior runs. Well systems add a pressure tank and a pump to the list of things worth checking when pressure fades.

Is the sewer lateral my responsibility too?

Generally yes, from the house out to the main, and in older neighborhoods that lateral is often clay or cast iron with roots in the joints. A camera inspection is the normal way to find out what shape it is in before it backs up.

Does a filter deal with a lead service line?

A filter rated for lead reduction helps at the tap it is attached to, but it does not change what the buried line is made of. Replacing the line is the durable answer, and the water system may have a program that shares the work.
