Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Can high pressure damage my water heater?

It can shorten its life, because every heating cycle in a closed system pushes against a relief valve that was never meant to be the pressure control. A valve that drips is doing its job under conditions it shouldn't be facing. Correcting pressure usually stops the dripping without touching the valve.

How do I know if my water pressure is too high?

A gauge on an outside spigot gives the answer in a minute, and pressure well above the normal residential range points at a regulator that has drifted. Banging pipes when a washer shuts off, toilets that refill on their own, and a relief valve dripping at the water heater all point the same direction. A plumber covering Cleveland and West Monroe can read it and set it back.

What is the expansion tank above my water heater for?

It gives heated water somewhere to expand once a check valve or regulator closes the system off from the street. When the tank loses its air charge, that expansion has nowhere to go and pressure spikes every time the burner or element runs. A tank that feels heavy at the bottom is usually waterlogged and done.
