Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Does a home with 4328 or so residents nearby get different service?

The plumbing work is the same regardless of how big the place is. What changes is travel, since a pro already covering Persia or Perrysburg can fold in a nearby call more easily than a distant one. Population size doesn't change what a regulator or a supply line needs.

Does hot weather really change my home's water pressure?

Indirectly, yes. With July averaging 81 degrees, water entering the house is warmer, so each heating cycle expands it more inside a closed system. If the regulator is holding properly and the expansion tank is charged, you never notice. If either is failing, summer is when you find out.

Where is my main shutoff likely to be?

In a home with a basement it is usually on the wall facing the street, right where the service line comes through, often within a few feet of the meter. Crawlspace homes sometimes have it under the floor near the front. Find it before you need it, and make sure the handle actually turns.

Why do my faucets bang when the washing machine stops?

That's water hammer, and high static pressure makes it far worse than it would otherwise be. The moving water has to stop suddenly and the shock travels back through the supply lines. Lowering pressure to a normal setting and adding arrestors at the appliance usually settles it.

My well pressure swings a lot in summer. Is that the pump?

Often it's the pressure tank rather than the pump itself, since a tank that has lost its air cushion makes the pump short cycle and the pressure jump. Wells around Otto and Perrysburg run on the same basic setup as city homes downstream of the meter, minus the utility regulator. A plumber can check the tank charge and the switch settings together.
