Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

How long does a pressure regulator last?

Most give somewhere between a decade and two, depending on water quality and how hard the street pressure runs. Sediment and scale are what usually finish them. Once one starts hunting up and down rather than holding a set number, adjustment stops helping and replacement is the fix.

Is my house on city water or a well?

If there is a meter and a curb stop out front you are on the utility. Homes farther from the built up parts near Galen and Savannah are more often on private wells with a pressure tank in the basement or a utility room. The two need different work, so it matters before anyone quotes a job.

What is the expansion tank above my water heater for?

It gives heated water somewhere to expand once a check valve or regulator closes the system off from the street. When the tank loses its air charge, that expansion has nowhere to go and pressure spikes every time the burner or element runs. A tank that feels heavy at the bottom is usually waterlogged and done.

Should I shut the water off if a pipe starts leaking?

Yes. Close the main shutoff first, then kill power to the water heater at the breaker if the leak is anywhere near it. That stops the damage from growing while you wait. Leave the diagnosis and the repair to the plumber who comes out.
