Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Our house still has galvanized pipe. Is that a problem?

Galvanized narrows from the inside as it ages, so flow drops long before anything leaks. Plenty of pre-war houses here and out toward Kiryas Joel still run it, and the decision usually comes down to how far the pressure has already fallen.

Where does the water district's responsibility end and mine begin?

Typically the piece from the curb stop into the building is yours, and everything on the street side belongs to the water system. That line is the same age as the house in a lot of older properties around here and toward Kiryas Joel, so it's the first thing to ask about.

How would I know if minerals are building up in my system?

The common signs are a noisy tank, shorter hot showers and faucet screens that clog again soon after being cleared. None of it is an emergency on its own, but together they point one direction.

Is the meter inside or out on older properties here?

Inside on the basement wall is the usual arrangement in the older stock. Properties added later often use an outdoor pit instead, so the shutoff you can reach is in a different place.
