Seasonal timing

About 155 freezing nights a year means a long cold-water season, and a heater with a mineral bed at the bottom feels every week of it.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Why is pressure low at only one faucet?

A single weak fixture usually points at that fixture rather than the house supply, often a clogged screen or a stop valve that's partly closed. When every tap is weak at once, the search moves out toward the service line and the pressure regulator.

When is a water heater old enough to think about replacing?

There's no fixed number, since mineral load and use both matter. A tank that recovers slower than it used to, or that makes noise while heating, is usually further along than the calendar suggests.

Our house still has galvanized pipe. Is that a problem?

Galvanized narrows from the inside as it ages, so flow drops long before anything leaks. Plenty of pre-war houses here and out toward Dix still run it, and the decision usually comes down to how far the pressure has already fallen.

We're on a well. Does that change the hot-water problem?

Well systems bring their own minerals in, and that load ends up on the heater element and the tank floor the same way it would on a public supply. Pressure tank and pump condition matter too, which is why a well house gets checked differently from a metered one in Dix.
