Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Could high water pressure be behind my leaks?

It can be. Pressure above the normal residential range stresses every joint and fixture in the house, and a failing pressure regulator is a common reason a house starts leaking in several places at once.

The line to the addition runs through an unheated crawlspace. Risky?

Yes, that is one of the more common freeze locations, along with garage walls and porch runs. Anything outside the heated envelope of the house is on its own during a cold snap.

Water is coming through the ceiling. First move?

Shut the water off at the main valve, and switch off the breaker for the water heater if the tank is losing water. Keep people out from under the wet section of ceiling.

Does a frost-free faucet mean the pipe can't freeze?

Not on its own. The design drains the barrel back toward the heated side of the wall, but only when the hose is off and the faucet is fully closed.

Is the water here hard enough to cause problems?

Hard water is common across much of the state and it shows up as scale in the water heater, on aerators and inside valve seats. Scale on a hose bib seat is one reason an outdoor faucet stops sealing.
