Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

The outside faucet drips a little. Does that matter in winter?

It does. A faucet that won't seat holds water in the barrel where the pipe crosses the cold wall, and that is exactly the spot that splits. A drip in warm weather is a small job; the same drip after a freeze is often a wall repair too.

How would I know a supply line split inside a wall?

Often it shows as a stain or a soft spot on a ceiling or wall rather than obvious water, and sometimes as a drop in pressure at one fixture. A meter that keeps moving with every tap closed is the clearest sign.

Am I responsible for the buried line to the street?

Usually yes, from the curb stop to the house. The pipe under the road belongs to the water utility, and the local department can tell you where their responsibility ends on your particular street.

How do I know what my pipes are made of?

A look at the exposed runs in the basement usually answers it: dull gray threaded pipe is galvanized, dull orange is copper, and flexible plastic is PEX. Mixed materials in one house are normal in a place with housing of several eras.
